The BOV ePremier League is heading into the 4th match day and some tense fixtures to look out for.  Here’s key information and a couple of talking points to look out for as the team's prepare to meet in this week’s league matches. Tarxien in the spotlight Match Day 4 sees Klawka being at the centre of the attention with two streamed matches against Gudja represented by Haller10 and unbeaten Floriana lead by Mizu. In a short interview during the week, Ryan stated that he is ready to bounce back this Thursday and get maximum points to avail of the earlier disappointments in previous weeks.  Tarxien Rainbows' Ryan 'Klawka' Cauchi at Match Day 3 Mosta to regain form? Lukebartolofifa has been through a rough patch recently and will be looking to climb back up the ladder and secure some well-needed points. He will have to face the daunting task of Brandsha, who only lost his first match last week to current leader Chrismeister888. A delightful rivalry between friends but this must be put at the side for the full 90 minutes in both rounds.  Mosta FC's Luke 'LukeBartoloFifa' Bartolo at Match Day 3 Can Santa Lucia and Floriana remain unbeaten? Santa Lucia and Floriana are the only sides that remain undefeated after the first three-game weeks. Chrismeister888 and Mizu managed to go another week unscathed with both of them managing to conclude the week with maximum points. Santa Lucia will face 7th and 8th place respectively in Birkirkara FC and Senglea Athletic whilst Floriana will face off against Klawka’s Tarxien and Dunstan’s Hibernians.  Impressive Results in the ESL Country Cup Plus Two New FUT Verified Players The BOV ePremier League was built to be the stepping stone for Maltese gamers’ by encouraging them to improve their gameplay and become the best version of themselves. This is already showing signs of fruition after a positive weekend in international events.  During the past weekend, Maltese players were invited for the first time to participate in the ESL Country Cup together with professional players from Greece and Croatia. 5 Players from the Malta BOV ePremier League signed up with 3 of them ending up in the TOP 3. Chrismeister888 beating brandsha in the Final of the event through a golden goal and Txrbulence claiming 3rd place.  The weekend also saw Klawka and Isaac Kyle Grima getting verified during the weekend league after superb individual performances. This now means that 9 out of 14 participants are verified and can compete internationally in EA Sports Qualifying events such as the eChampions League qualifiers this week. As always, the BOV ePremier League is sure to have exciting, meaningful games as the league begins to take shape. Will Santa Lucia drop some important points and will Hamrun manage to grab full points in order to close the 4 point gap?

Match Day 3 Roundup - The Malta BOV ePremier League

Match Day 3 of the BOV ePremier League saw the return of Christian and Gianluca and what a week it was!  Here’s how the featured matches went on Thursday evening. Santa Lucia back with a Bang! Santa Lucia FC vs Tarxien FC (Chrismeister888 vs Klawka) Leg 1: 3-2 Leg 2: 5-0 Stunning start by Santa Lucia as after just 5 minutes of play, the ball found its way to R9, who coolly slotted the ball home. The Vikings kept pressing with the ball again falling at the feet of R9 who scored an almost identical goal to double Santa Lucia’s lead in the 30th minute. Tarxien’s Klawka fought back, producing a superb showing in the second half. He levelled matters at 2-2 in the 52nd and 69th minute through Eusebio and R9. However, Christian immediately replied, hitting the winner in the 75th through R9 who sealed his hat-trick.  Christian reminded the viewers why he is currently Malta’s number 1 seed in the EA Global Series PS4 leaderboard. Santa Lucia went all out attack and dominated the second game winning 5-0 with R9 and Messi both getting a brace, CR7 finished things off. Santa Lucia FC Christian 'Chrismeister888' Spiteri at Match Day 3 Offside Goals prove costly for Balzan!  Valletta FC vs Balzan FC (Txrbulense vs isaackylegrima) Leg 1: 1-1 Leg 2: 4-1 Txrbulense, playing his first match after returning from Valencia, had a tough nut to crack in Balzan’s Isaac Kyle Grima.  The match started as expected with both sides testing the waters. It was a quiet affair until the 42nd minute when Isaac had the audacity the produce a Rainbow Flick with Neymar and saw his shot hit the post but from the rebound, R9 tapped the ball into an empty net. However, to the dismay of the Balzan supporter, the goal was ruled out for offside.  Fast forward to the 64th minute and once again Balzan had a goal disallowed, this time scored by Neymar. From the resulting free-kick, Valletta took the lead after some great build-up play saw both Ronaldos link up with R9 scoring against the run of play. Isaac forced his way back into the game late on and found an equaliser in the 90th minute thanks to Lionel Messi. Nothing to separate the two but Balzan unlucky not to win with two goals ruled out for offside.  Balzan thought they were on to something in the 12th minute of the second round as they took the lead with a Neymar JR finish but Valletta had other ideas. Txrbulense fought back to win the game 4-1 after a brace from R9, Cruyff and Messi getting on the scoresheet. Gudja finally get their first Win! Gudja United vs Birkirkara FC (Haller10 vs Lawfu) Leg 1: 1-3 Leg 2: 1-0 Gudja United were still winless entering Match Day 3 and facing last week’s player of the week “Lawfu” was not going to be a straightforward task. From the kick-off, Gudja showed hunger and immediately found the net after a Lionel Messi effort. Haller made sure that he kept possession throughout the game but in a quick counter-attack, Lawfu managed to level matters after a sleek through-ball to R9 who calmly slotted home following a quick ball roll. In the 35th minute, Birkirkara again saw an opening in the middle of the park and it was Ballon D’Or winner Lionel Messi who turned the tide in their favour.  The second half saw a lot of end-to-end action but it wasn’t until a Virgil Van Dijk blunder that handed R9 an easy finish in the dying minutes of the match to seal all three points for Birkirkara.  The second match was tense and it was evident both sides did not want to concede. It was going to be either a mistake or an excellent goal that would break the deadlock. In this case, it was the latter as an R9 thunderbolt in the top left corner was enough to give Gudja their first three points of the league phase. Gudja FC Manuel 'Haller10' Schembri at Match Day 3 Santa Lucia go top of the table! Santa Lucia FC vs Hamrun Spartans (chrismeister888 vs brandsha) Leg 1: 2-0 Leg 2: 2-1 The match of the day was eagerly-expected as Ħamrun Spartans’ Brandsha took on Santa Lucia’s Chrismeister888 to determine who will be the leader come the end of the day.  A series of shots following a corner in the 16th minute saw the ball fall to Lionel Messi who opened the scoring for the Yellows. It was a defending masterclass from Christian in that first half, blocking anything that came his way in the middle of the park through Ruud Gullit and N’Golo Kante.  The second half was more of the same as once again, the defence was key for Santa Lucia. Christian managed to make the score 2-0 in the 62nd minute after R9 made headway on the right-hand side before passing the ball to CR7 who hit the post but scored from the rebound.  Brandsha had to make amends for his disappointing attacking performance in that first round. Ħamrun took the lead in the 30th minute through a fine counter-attack that was coolly dispatched by Lionel Messi. The lead was almost doubled in the 38th minute but Van Dijk was the saviour for Santa Lucia as he blocked an easy 1 vs 1 for Ħamrun.  Santa Lucia increased the pressure and it paid off in the 58th minute as Christian’s top scorer R9 pounced on Van Dijk’s mistake to make things even. That was not enough for Christian as he pressed even more and the ball found its way to Lionel Messi who beat Van Dijk easily and fired home to secure all the points. Thus, Christian cemented his name as the sole leader of the Malta BOV ePremier League after this Match Day. Floriana too strong for Mosta  Floriana FC vs Mosta FC (Mizu vs lukebartolofifa)  Leg 1: 2-0 Leg 2: 1-0  A match which, on paper, promised to be an action-packed fixture between two FUT verified players Mizu and lukebartolofifa ended up being a one-sided affair as Luke is still trying to find his best form in this Malta BOV ePremier League. As soon as they stepped into the studio, things were already looking to be in Mizu’s favour as he was coming from two wins against Gudja, whilst Luke suffered two defeats against Hibernians.  Floriana found the net with a great strike from R9 in the 29th minute. Mizu continued searching for the second and they struck gold in the 60th minute after a Messi near-post finish to cruise to victory.  Mosta tried hard to get back into contention but Floriana’s defence was too strong in the second round of this fixture, blocking shots left, right and centre. A flurry of elastico’s saw R9 put the ball in the back of the net for Floriana in the 38th minute to give them the lead, even though Mosta enjoyed 64% of the possession at the time. Mizu held out for three important points that puts him third in the standings and still unbeaten.  Mosta FC Luke 'LukeBartoloFifa' Bartolo at Match Day 3 Points shared between Alessio and Dunstan Sliema Wanderers vs Hibernians FC (Alessio10 vs Dunstan12) Leg 1: 1-1 Leg 2: 2-2 Both sides are known for their attacking football and it showed in both of these fixtures. Sliema took the lead in the 36th minute off a VVD finish from a Johann Cruyff corner which was perfectly timed off the post. Dunstan did not waste any time to level matters as through a series of skills from Lionel Messi, he created an opening and hammered a diagonal shot to level matters. Alisson was the hero for both sides as it remained goalless in the second half to keep the result 1-1.  Sliema dominated the second round with more than 65% of possession but were unable to find the net in the first half. Tactical changes at half-time had an impact as both defences started to open up with Hibernians finding the net through a Gullit bullet in the 54th minute. A penalty was awarded to the Wanderers in the 65th minute after a poor Alisson tackle and it was R9 who put it past Becker.  Sliema continued to press forward and deservedly forged ahead in the 79th minute through a CR7 tap-in after good work on the flank from Messi. When it looked as though the match was going Sliema’s way, Mbappe somehow found the back of the net to rescue a point for Hibernians.    Shoutcasters - Matteo 'The Don' Privitelli and Christian 'Krii' Camilleri at Match Day 3 #news-detail .page-content h2{margin-top: 30px;font-size: 20px}#news-detail .page-content h3{font-weight:700;margin-top: 15px;}

Match Day 3 Preview - The Malta BOV ePremier League

The BOV ePremier League is heating up, with a new contender emerging at the top of the table after the latest round of games. As always, Match Day 3 has a number of exciting clashes to look forward to, including a game between first and third as Santa Lucia are pitted against Hamrun. Here’s key information and a couple of talking points to look out for as the team's prepare to meet in this week’s league matches. Anticipated Return for Two Players  Match Day 3 sees the return of chrismeister888 and Txrbulense. To even things out, they played a couple of extra games on Match Day 1, and will do so again this week. Santa Lucia FC Christian 'chrismeister888' Spiteri and Valletta FC Gianluca 'Txrbulense' Sant facing off at Match Day 1 Chrismeister888, in particular, has been seen as an early title contender, but he’ll have to contend with a number of in-form sides if he wants any hope of emerging victorious. Txrbulense doesn’t have it easy either. He’s set to feature against Issac Kyle’s Balzan, who remains undefeated with three wins and three draws from his opening games. Impressively, Balzan have conceded just two goals in the league, so Gianluca will have to work hard to break down a determined defence. Top Sides Remain Undefeated For now, Hamrun Spartans, Santa Lucia, Balzan and Floriana are the only sides that remain undefeated after the first two match weeks. Sliema and Hibernians are two teams that featured on the main channel last week, although the latter had mixed results, with vulnerabilities being exposed in their game against Tarxien. Hibs have now lost three and won five, which is a poor display from a team that won its opening four games without breaking a sweat. They have a chance to get back on track against Sliema, who are currently sitting in 10th with two wins and as many draws from their opening eight games. First Against Third in Thrilling Clash Brandsha looked decent on Match Day 1, dispatching his brother Brandonn_93 with ease. He went on to amass six points from six in his two featured games against Sirens on Match Day 2, making for an impressive tally of 22 points out of 24 so far. He’s opened up an eight-point gap on Hibs in second after they lost a trio of games, and he must be seen as the player to beat in the third round of matches. Hamrun Spartans Shaun 'brandsha' Galea at Match Day 2 His Hamrun side is up against Santa Lucia, represented by the returning chrismeister888. It’s likely to be the most important game of the tournament so far for each player, and it could be make or break for either team. Another brace of wins would likely extend brandsha’s lead to almost unassailable heights. As for chrismeister888, it’s an opportunity to cut brandsha’s lead down to size, and to remind everyone of who is the real one to watch. The match will start at around 9.30pm and will be streamed on the main channel. As always, the BOV ePremier League is sure to have exciting, meaningful games as the league begins to take shape. Match Day 2 Roundup - The Malta BOV ePremier League

Despite the absence of a couple of top players, Match Day 2 of the BOV ePremier League saw a number of upsets and a new leader emerging after a range of hard-fought games. Here’s how the featured matches went down Thursday evening. Mosta Settle Nerves at the Expense of Sirens  Sirens FC vs Mosta FC (RudyFifaPlayer vs lukebartolofifa) Leg 1: 1-1 Leg 2: 1-2 After a first half with hardly any action, both players decided to sub off Lionel Messi as he was making little impact. Instead, it was left to a different type of icon, as Prime Eusebio broke the deadlock in the 61st minute for Mosta FC. However, TOTS Sadio Mane grabbed an equaliser ten minutes after to make it 1-1.  Mosta FC Luke 'lukebartolofifa' Bartolo at Match Day 2 Sirens’ Cristiano Ronaldo fluffed an opportunity stemming from a free-kick at the death, but it ended all square after the first leg. Ruud Gullit was dabbing after three minutes in the second match, as Sirens took an early lead. Mane made it 1-1 after eight minutes with a near-instant reply, and they were back to a stalemate. Messi was instrumental for both players in the second game, and finessed a shot with the outside of his left boot to make it 2-1 for Mosta after 25 minutes. Despite being known for aggressive tactics, Mosta held the ball in the late stages, securing the win. A 2-0 Lead is a Dangerous One  Birkirkara FC vs Senglea Athletic FC (lawfu vs Ryan08100) Leg 1: 2-2 Leg 2: 1-0 Lawfu’s Birkirkara side were second from bottom after the first match week, so he was desperate to get some points on the board in the second round of featured games. However, Senglea took the lead in the opening half hour, with a second from 99 TOTY Messi after 22 minutes.  Matthias de Ligt produced a solid tackle for Ryan after 50 minutes, and Senglea looked to be in full control. That is until a Mbappe roulette from lawfu led to a screamer in the 77th minute. Mbappe nutmegged Allison to make it 2-2 just before added time in a great comeback draw. Given the stress of the last minute goal, it’s no surprise that both teams decided to turtle up during the second match. Both struggled to create meaningful chances, likely wary of being exposed. R9 eventually smashed a shot from range in the 76th minute for lawfu, and he managed to hold out to pick up his first win of the league season. Birkirkara FC Ryan 'lawfu' Galea & strategist Ian 'Zappy' Aquilina at Match Day 2 Hibs Winning Run Briefly Halted Tarxien Rainbows vs Hibernians FC (Klawka vs Dunstan12) Leg 1: 2-0 Leg 2: 0-1 Midtable Tarxien were up against Hibs, with the latter undefeated with four wins in four. Surprisingly, Klawka bossed the game in the first half, coming close repeatedly without looking dangerous.  His lack of fear paid off as he took the lead through TOTY Ronaldo on the 70th minute mark, while R9 capitalised on a mistake to slot into an open goal with ten minutes to spare for Tarxien, capping off a deserved win. The return match saw Dunstan12 struggling to regain his composure at first, before settling into a good rhythm. R9 bagged a cheeky header for Hibs after 23 minutes, setting the tone for the game. A mistimed de Ligt tackle for Hibs didn’t matter in the end as CR7 somehow missed the ensuing penalty. Dunstan preserved his lead thanks to a terrific save, and mind games with the keeper. That was it aside from an offside goal for Tarxien, so both teams ended up with a share of the spoils. brandsha Announces Himself as a Contender Sirens FC vs Hamrun Spartans (RudyFifaPlayer vs brandsha) Leg 1: 3-0 Leg 2: 3-2 After dropping five points from a possible six in the opener, Sirens were under heavy pressure against Hamrun. Unfortunately, Rudy was up against a team which had climbed to the top of the table following earlier results. bransha’s 99-rated Messi opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, and Mbappe soon made it 2-0 after half an hour played. The league leaders continued to search for a third, and CR7 obliged in the 89th minute to finish off any hopes of a comeback. Sirens can’t have been looking forward to a return leg straight after, and it seemed like everything was routine as Messi skilled his way to an opener in the 23rd minute. Rudy’s CR7 got an unlikely equaliser via a corner from a direct header, proving nothing is ever certain in FIFA. Hamrun Spartans Shaun 'brandsha' Galea at Match Day 2 R9 smashed in a sweaty tap-in on the hour mark to restore Sirens’ lead, but Rudy scored an instant equaliser with his own R9 slotting home to restore parity. Hamrun then had one ruled out for offside, before Pele scored one at the death to expose Sirens’ lack of patience. It ended with six points out of six for Hamrun. Gudja Get Points on the Board in 4-4 Thriller  Gudja United vs Sliema Wanderers (Haller10 vs Aless10)  Leg 1:4-4 Leg 2: 1-2 Gudja shipped 18 goals in their first six games, and were winless entering their featured matches against Sliema. After settling a few issues with commentary, Aless10 inevitably went up 1-0 thanks to R9 after 10 minutes. Messi got the equaliser with a fizzing shot after 24 minutes, but R9 smashed in another goal just a few seconds after for Sliema. Playing for pride, Messi made it 2-2 after 40 minutes, but Johan Cruyff made it 3-2 just before the end of the half. Amazingly, Messi completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute, and while it was 4-3 thanks to Cruyff in the 70th, Mane earned Haller10 his first point by making it  4-4 in the 89th minute. In the second game, Sliema took the lead quickly once more, and smashed the post in the 65th minute. It was a muted affair compared to the first for obvious reasons, while Gudja had to deal with a tight offside call after finding the net with 15 minutes to go. Haller10’s Messi scored again in the 83rd minute, but Aless10 hit a red-timed screamer to take all three points at the death. Tight Fixtures Between bRandonN_93 and Mizu Gzira United vs Floriana FC (bRandonN_93 vs Mizu) Leg 1: 0-0 Leg 2: 0-0 The final matches of the night saw Gzira facing off against Floriana. The latter is seen as another contender for the title, but bRandonN_93 was the obvious aggressor during the early stages. Mizu has incredible dribbling, but the first half ended at 0-0 despite numerous chances for both sides. It finished as a goalless draw, and was the first of the night.  Floriana FC Michael Owen 'Mizu' Micallef at Match Day 2 The second tie saw the sides negating each other once more, with top displays from the two goalkeepers throughout. It also ended 0-0, leaving both players frustrated, but also relieved not to have lost. #news-detail .page-content h2{margin-top: 30px;font-size: 20px}#news-detail .page-content h3{font-weight:700;margin-top: 15px;}

Match Day 2 Preview - The Malta BOV ePremier League

Match Day 2 of the Bov ePremier League is almost underway, with a number of interesting ties to look forward to. It sees the best FIFA players in Malta competing for a chance to establish themselves as the dominant force in the region. The latest leg of the FIFA 20 Global Series has already seen the table beginning to take shape, with four teams already up to double figures. A Promising Start for Santa Lucia and Hibs  Santa Lucia FC sit at the top of the summit, with Hibernians just two points behind with as many games in hand. The latter is represented by Maltese international Dunstan Vella, who has won every match so far in the tournament. Hibernians FC Dunstan 'Dunstan12' Vella at Match Day 1 Vella qualified after beating veteran Manuel Schembri (Haller10), and juggles playing FIFA with being contracted for Hibs, as well as working for an insurance company part-time. It’s not a bad return for a player who can only dedicate up to an hour per day to the game. His ePremier League side are up against the struggling Tarxien Rainbows who have earned only three points from four games. It’s also a highly anticipated local derby game, with both teams originating from neighbouring towns.  Santa Lucia are represented by the highly-rated chrismeister888, who is undoubtedly one of the best FIFA players in Europe.  Picked as a likely victor by the majority of his fellow players, he’s already drawn twice, although he has conceded just three goals for the 17 in reply. He won’t be featured on the main channel this week as he’s travelling for the FIFA eClub World Cup being held in Milan this weekend but it’s worth keeping an eye on his results in later games. Sirens Featured On the Main Channel Again  Elsewhere, Sirens currently sit in twelfth, having won a single game at the expense of Senglea Athletic. Rudy Grech made it clear that he was disappointed with results from Match Week one, but he’ll have another chance to make amends in the opening game of the night. He’s up against Mosta FC, currently seventh in the league. Sirens FC Rudy 'RudyFifaPlayer' Grech at Match Day 1 Grech will then have to contend with third placed Hamrun Spartans in his second televised game, undefeated on 10 points along with Balzan FC. Early Struggles for Gudja and Sliema  In the lower half of the table, Gudja United have yet to earn a point, after a poor start which saw them concede 12 goals in their opening four games. One of the oldest players in the competition, Haller10 will be hoping that his experience pays off at the second time of asking. He’s up against Sliema Wanderers in one of the featured games on the main channel. Sliema’s Alessio10 played for Maltese side Tarxien when he was younger, while his virtual team currently occupies the lower end of the table. Sliema Wanderers Alessio 'Aless10' Buhagiar at Match Day 1 As always, El Fenomeno is likely to lead the line for most teams in the league, having bagged a majority of the goals in the first match week along with Leo Messi and R9’s Portuguese namesake. The trio have been deadly so far, although the duo of TOTS Virgil van Dijk and TOTS Matthijs de Ligt have proved to be a formidable duo for most of the players at the top of the table. Preferred Personnel  While nobody is out of the title race mathematically, it’s hard to imagine the teams at the top dropping more than a few points until they’re matched up against each other. For now, all eyes will be on Dunstan Vella as he aims to break away from the chasing pack.  It’s only week two, but there could soon be daylight between the teams at the top. Stay tuned on Thursday to find out what happens! #news-detail .page-content h2{margin-top: 30px;font-size: 20px}#news-detail .page-content h3{font-weight:700;margin-top: 15px;}

Match Day 1 Roundup - The Malta BOV ePremier League

As part of the FIFA 20 Global Series, the BOV ePremier League sees 14 players representing a team from the top tier in Malta. Match day 1 had teams competing with everything to play for, as well as a chance to set the pace in the early stages. Players face each other with six points up for grabs over two games. Let's go over the main matches that took place on our main twitch channel. Tournament Favourite Starts Off With a Draw  Santa Lucia FC vs Valletta (chrismeister888 vs Txrbulense) Round 1: 0-0  Round 2: 1-1  The first round of the Malta ePremier League began with favourite chrismeister888 facing off against Txrbulense. The first half was cagey, while there was little to mention aside from a few half-chances.  In the second leg, chrismeister888 took the lead with Lionel Messi in the 22nd minute, with one of his very first shots on target. An impressive defensive display followed, although Ronaldo did have a goal ruled for offside after 31 minutes for Txrbulense. R9 went on to miss a free header in the 55th minute as Zinedine Zidane was rampant on the wing, although the Brazilian striker got his goal with a low driven shot on the hour mark.  Both players settled for a draw, with the tie ending at 1-1. It was a surprising result for chrismeister888, but at least he started with points on the board. Santa Lucia FC chrismeister888 starting the day vs. Valletta Txrbulense Tight Games In the Second Matchup Floriana vs Birkirkara FC (Mizu vs lawfu) Round 1: 1-0  Round 2: 1-1  The second matchup to feature on the main channel was Mizu against lawfu.  Almost straight away, R9 was close for Mizu, while Lionel Messi also had a good chance within the first ten minutes for the player representing Floriana.  lawfu managed to settle down, and they began feeling each other out for the remainder of the first leg. R9 grabbed a late goal to make it 1-0 for Mizu in extra time, taking all three points against the run of play. The second leg saw lawfu adopting a more patient approach to begin with, but Mizu soon began to read his opponent with regularity. R9 bagged an acrobatic volley in the 41st minute to open the scoring, and came close again after 60 minutes. lawfu grabbed an equaliser through the ever-deadly R9 after 80 minutes, heaping more pressure on Mizu, and the second leg ended 1-1. Bragging Rights Earned for brandsha Hamrun Spartans vs Gzira United (brandsha vs bRandonN_93) Round 1: 5-0  Round 2: 2-2 The third tie was a clash between brothers, so they were playing for bragging rights at home, as well as much-needed points. Seen as another early favourite, brandsha quickly took the lead through R9 after 12 minutes. He hit the post almost ten minutes later, and R9 found the back of the net again in the 36th. Lionel Messi scored a third just before the end of the first half, highlighting the difference in class. Hamrun Spartans grabbed a fourth via Cristiano Ronaldo in the 79th minute after controlling the game, and R9 got a hat-trick with a few minutes to go. So much for brotherly love.  The second leg saw brandsha take his foot off the gas, and his brother finally got a goal through C Ronaldo midway through the first half. bRandonN_93 grew in confidence, and slotted with R9 to make it 2-1 after Messi grabbed an equaliser. brandsha looked to Pele, who managed to make it 2-2 as the referee was about to blow the final whistle. Gzira United bRandonN_93 in a tough match-up against Hamrun Spartans brandsha Neymar Saves the Day for Floriana  Floriana vs Valletta FC (Mizu vs Txrbulense) Round 1: 2-0  Round 2: 2-2 Txrbulense and Mizu returned for their second appearance on the main channel. Representing a couple of bitter rivals, Floriana and Valletta are two of the biggest clubs in Malta. Mizu was seen as a likely aggressor before the game, given the balanced style of Txrbulense. The early predictions proved to be right, as his 99 Lionel Messi scored the opener after four in-game minutes. The two sides began trading blows, but neither could find the net until Kylian Mbappe made it 2-0 with time running out.  The return leg was played at a slower pace, with fewer chances in the opening stages. Mizu managed to take the lead before half time with a beautiful low driven shot by Messi, but Valletta got one back through Cristiano Ronaldo just after the hour mark. Pele made it 2-1 for Txrbulense seconds after in an impressive turnaround. Neymar Jr nabbed a tap-in moments later to make it 2-2, in one of the best matches so far.  A Statement of Intent for Hibs Hibernians FC vs Sirens FC (Dunstan12 vs RudyFifaPlayer) Round 1: 5-1  Round 2: 3-0 Hibernians player Dunstan12 had a strong start, taking six points from his opening two games. He caused Sirens to concede an early penalty through Trent Alexander-Arnold, which was converted with ease to take the lead. Dunstan12 was 2-0 up a few minutes later through Sadio Mane, although R9 clawed one back before half-time to make it 2-1. RudyFifaPlayer’s failed showboat ended in a C Ronaldo goal to end the tie 3-1, before he scored another brace to add insult to injury. The second leg was more of the same, although it’s hard to recover from a morale-sapping loss in such a short time. An early finish by Messi was topped off by a goal for R9 on 53 minutes to secure the victory. The win means that Hibernians (and Dunstan12) have earned 12 points from a possible 12. It’s a strong statement of intent in week 1. A Brace of Wins for Balzan Balzan vs Birkirkara FC (IssacKyleGrima vs lawfu) Round 1: 3-2  Round 2: 1-0 The final tie of Match Week 1 was between two neighbouring cities in the form of Balzan and Birkirkara. Balzan took the lead within 20 minutes as IssacKyleGrima buried his first shot, and he managed to double his lead after 43 minutes through R9. lawfu got one back through Kylian Mbappe immediately after the restart, and his R9 made it 2-2 on the hour mark. With everything to play for, Balzan’s 98 Mbappe made it 3-2 to snatch the victory. The return leg was quiet in comparison, as the team’s went in at 0-0 after the first half. Balzan’s CR7 scored after a lovely elastico to go ahead after 69 minutes, and they managed to hold out for a nervy victory.
