Match Day 4 of the BOV ePremier League caused some joy, anger and disappointing scenes throughout.

Here’s how the featured matches went on Thursday evening.

Tarxien delivers his promise!

Tarxien Rainbows vs Gudja United (Klawka vs Haller10)

Leg 1: 2-1
Leg 2: 4-0

Klawka bounced back from a nightmare of a matchday 3 with two wins over Gudja as he promised during the week.

Tarxien started off with a bang showing off the new moments R9 with two cool finishes on the 5th and 27th minute. Gudja fought hard to get level and managed through a Maradona goal in the 41st minute with a calm drag back and finish. Things remained the same in the second half after a solid defensive display from Gudja.

It was a close encounter in the 2nd round of this fixture until Tarxien broke the deadlock through R9 deep in first-half injury time. Tarxien continued to dominate the encounter and through a perfectly played team goal Eusebio finished things off in the 61st minute. Eusebio added another two goals later on to make the score 4-0.

Birkirkara rue misses against Santa Lucia!

Birkirkara FC vs Santa Lucia FC (Lawfu vs Chrismeister888)

Leg 1: 0-1
Leg 2: 0-6

Santa Lucia needed all six points in this encounter to stay on course to win the league phase.

The pressure was mounted on Santa Lucia to find the winner after a goalless first half and adjusted his tactics to be more aggressive in attacking but it almost cost him everything but Birkirkara forgot his shooting boots at home after missing two sitters in the 62nd minute through 99 rated Lionel Messi and on the 86th minute through R9.

Birkirkara’s defence eventually succumbed to the pressure and in a late attack, Chrismeister’s talisman R9 scored in deep injury time to get all 3 points for Santa Lucia.

The second match was more of a one-sided fixture as expected before the start of the two rounds as Santa Lucia’s pressure was too much for Birkirkara. R9 getting a casual hat-trick, Cruijff, Pele and Kante rounded things up to make the final score 6-0.

Floriana are no longer unbeaten!

Tarxien Rainbows vs Floriana FC (Klawka vs Mizu)

Leg 1: 2-1
Leg 2: 3-1

Floriana ended a run of twelve matches unbeaten at the hands of Tarxien’s Klawka.

The greens started off brightly, Mizu showing his usual hunger to attack. Things look to have paid off with a 42nd-minute banger from R9 to take the lead but Klawka had other plans as he immediately got level in the 45th minute with his own R9 showing what he’s worth. The second half was a balanced encounter and it was Tarxien who found the back of the net to make things 2-1, Eusebio with the killer.

Tarxien took advantage of ’s weak spots from the first round and make sure he made it 6 points from a possible 6. R9 doing the deeds again in the 31st minute. Eusebio once again the catalyst in the second half with a brace and Mizu finding the net through R9.

Day to forget for Valletta!

Gzira FC vs Valletta FC (bRandonN_93 vs Txrbulence)

Leg 1: 2-1
Leg 2: 1-2

Definitely, a day to forget for Valletta, still shell shocked from 2 losses with Senglea Athletic, Gzira made sure to capitalize on that and he surely did with his R9 and CR7 on form to beat him 2-1 in the first leg.

Valletta had to fight back in the 2nd round but Brandon did not waste any time as he found the net through CR7 in the 18th Minute. Txrbulence rolled up his sleeve and worked to get things level and he did so at the end of the first half through an exceptional goal from R9. A quick turn and finish in the 86th minute from Ronaldo was enough to seal the first and last three points of the night for Valletta.

Mosta disappoint once again!

Hamrun Spartans vs Mosta FC (brandsha vs lukebartolofifa)

Leg 1: 1-0
Leg 2: 6-0

Lukebartolofifa was in desperate need to show what he’s worth in this competition but unfortunately for him, it ended up a nightmare as he crashed to a huge loss to 2nd placed Hamrun with brandsha at the driving seat.

The first match was a very balanced encounter with both Alisson’s having to work hard to keep the ball out of the net. It was one solitary goal which was enough to seal the deal for Hamrun, R9 once again excelling throughout.

Mosta's Luke Bartolo lost his head in the 2nd fixture and wasn’t able to concentrate to continue giving their all after another early R9 goal made things difficult to fight back. A Pele and Cruijff brace and an excellent Cristiano Ronaldo goal were enough for Hamrun to run riot with an easy 6-0 victory to keep his title chances alive.

One win each for Floriana and Hibernians

Floriana FC vs Hibernians FC (Mizu vs Dunstan12)

Leg 1: 3-2
Leg 2: 0-1

Hibernians had a great start to the game after the ball found it's way to R9 an impressive Eusebio run down the side in the 8th minute. R9 made things level in the 18th minute for Floriana after some good team play. Once again it was Hibs who responded with a Lionel Messi effort in the 30th minute. Moments R9 once again showing what he's capable of for Mizu making things level just before the half time mark.

The second half gave us much less entertainment as Hibs pushed on for the victory but it was Floriana on a counter through CR7 which found the net and made the score 3-2. Mizu later scored another but it was ruled out for offside.

nd round was a less entertaining encounter and had nothing in it until a Virgil Van Dijk howler gifted Hibernians the win in the 85th minute through CR7
